Belmont   is   a   mixed   farm   producing   the   finest   quality   meats from   free   range   pasture   fed   prime   stock.      We   firmly   believe   the route   to   an   exceptional   end   product   starts   with   happy   healthy animals.      Our   rare   breed   pigs   are   born   here   on   the   farm   and spend    their    time    foraging    in    the    fields    for    bugs,    grubs,    and roots.      Our   cattle   are   free   to   wander   through   woodland   and fields,   finding   all   the   nutrients   they   need   from   the   land   they graze. We    are    a    small    farm    with    low    stock    density.        This    gives    the animals   room   to   move   and   allows   them   to   behave   naturally.     Ultimately   this   sometimes   results   in   us   having   to   retrieve   our “free    range”    pigs    from    a    neighbouring    field,    but    they    are inquisitive   and   do   like   to   dig…   unfortunately   this   is   sometimes under   my   fences!      Farming   this   way   is   fun,   and   we   believe   this   is an ethical way to produce meat. Our    next    project    is    to    produce    products    with    ingredients sourced   solely   from   the   farm.      This   means   seasonal,   low   food mile,   top   quality   food.      My   dream   is   to   produce   a   pork   and   apple, pork   and   honey,   or   pork   and   leek   sausages   with   EVERYTHING home grown.
